Throat chakra is situated at your neck and includes your throat area. A block here manifests in physical pain around that region as well as hesitancy to speak up for yourself or speak your truth.
Sore or dry throat
Scratchy throat and coughing often
Feeling a tightening of the throat
Feeling as if your voice is not heard
Not being comfortable speaking your truth
Having strong opinions but not voicing them
What causes the block
The block was likely caused when you were told not to speak of certain things when you were younger. Or as a child, you were often scolded for saying what was directly on your mind. This caused you to belief that you opinion is not valid. You may then resort to lying in order to keep the peace or not voicing your opinion at all
How to clear the block
This is practically quite a difficult one since we may still be in contact with those from our childhood (parents, grandparents, religious leader, teachers) who scolded us for speaking what is on our mind. The best way to work on clearing this if finding a safe space or discussion group where you can let out your opinions. Social Media is a great tool for this. Look up key words on topics you’re really interested in and see if there are any groups online that have active forums.
Self care practice
This is good for all blockages, for throat chakra block in particular – start your journal with:
“Today, what I really want to say to [certain person] is…
The reason it is so difficult for me to say this is because…
The first time I remember someone scolding me for saying anything like this was…
That person’s words made me feel as if…”
2. Meditation and Prayer
Throat Chakra meditations can involve humming too. Doing some mindful meditation and prayers will be helpful in stilling yourself so that you can hear your own voice again
Nature is great source of healing, spend as much time in the sun as possible and use this time for self reflection
4. Communicate through creative writing
You can consider something like writing a “fiction” novel using characters and figurines to put your ideas into a tangible form without binding you to the actual situation.
5. Dream interpretation
Our dreams are divine messages of the true emotions we have in our subconscious. Consider keeping track of your dreams and note any communication figures such as a cellphone turning into a burger or a bridge going off track. These could point to ways in which your subconscious is showing you how neglecting your truth is hampering other aspects of your life. For more dream interpretations, you can send me a message.
6. Speak to a healer
Find a healer you can trust to guide you through the process. Do your homework and look at different types of healers available and connect with the one that makes the most sense for you.
