How To Heal: Sacral Chakra

How To Heal: Sacral Chakra

Sacral Chakra – Orange
The sacral chakra is situated at our belly and around all our reproductive organs, this colour often shows up for women. Having a block here manifests through pain or medical issues in that area as well as lack of creativity and disconnect to the Divine Feminine
Physical signs
  • Ovarian cysts
  • PCOS
  • Fertility issues
  • Libido issues (exceptionally high or low)
  • Lower back pain
  • Endometriosis
Emotional signs
  • Lack of creativity
  • Struggling to find ideas for work or a project
  • Disconnect with sex: either having too much meaningless sex or no desire to have sex
What causes the block
The block is caused by a disconnect to the Divine Feminine and the Divine Mother: Nature. This was likely caused in early childhood where you were told to not act a certain way (because it was too girly or it was not a fitting behaviour for a girl). This block was further reinforced when you entered your teens and then in your early work life where masculine principles such as competitiveness, strategy, planning, budgeting and structure were more prized than feminine qualities such as nurturing, creativity, empathy and nature.
How to clear the block
There are several practices to clear a sacral chakra block, the first step will be for you to understand where the blockage was caused in your own life. When did you feel it was not ok to be in your feminine archetype. Do you remember who and what was said to convince you that being in the feminine is not a good trait to carry? Do some self introspection into these topics and this will help clear the block
Self care practice
1. Journalling
This is good for all blockages, but for sacral chakra block in particular – start your journal with:
“Today, how I wish to connect with my feminine is by…
This is new/easy/difficult/strange for me because…
The first time I remember someone saying that this [feminine practice] is weird or not useful is…
That made me feel…
2. Meditation
Do some divine feminine connection meditation (see the tips below on which app to use). Also know that the feminine does not act in isolation, all humans (male and female) have both the aspects of masculine and feminine. However, we live in a world where the masculine is praised and the feminine is frowned upon if not criticised severely. So this meditation will help you get your masculine and feminine archetypes into balances
3. Nature
Nature is the ultimate feminine energy, we call her the Divine Mother or more commonly, Mother Nature. Spend time outdoors connecting to nature in a way that suits you best. Consider practices such as gardening (I never liked gardening as a kid and now it’s such a big part of my life!) And try to get creative when you’re in nature, this can be through singing, dancing or painting outdoors. I’ve been making smudge sticks from the plants I’ve grown in my garden and I love using them for healing purposes.
4. Lunar Cycles
Get to understand the Moon and its cycle – it is directly linked to your feminine energy. This was the most unknown aspect of the feminine for me and now it’s become one of my favourite practices. I make moon water to use in skin care, bathing and even growing beautiful plants in the garden.
5. Sex Magick
This is probably the most difficult to do and I recommend you look into it once you’ve become more confident in the steps above. Basically, it involves manifesting through using the strongest energy force we can naturally create as humans – an orgasm.
6. Speak to a healer
Find a healer you can trust to guide you through the process. Do your homework and look at different types of healers available. Connect with the one that makes the most sense for you.
7. Shadow work
The Shadow work which needs to be done to align with Sacral Chakra is balancing the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine. The alignment of feminine and masculine energy is a practice that can take months or years to achieve. Be gentle with this process. Work on the self care tips mentioned above and do your own research. Below are some tips on Books, Netflix, Videos and Apps to use that will certainly help you get closer to a healthy balance suited to your own life.
What to Watch
Psalm Isadora – The Art of Sacred Sexuality
Psalm’s Masterclass isn’t actually about sex. It’s more about understanding the inner workings of your feminine power. Feminine energy is often misconstrued in the modern world and learning how to use this energy can be really beneficial – in and outside of the bedroom.
What to Read
The Woman Code – Alissa Vitti
Probably one of my favourites on understanding the female body around our menstrual cycle. Once you understand the phases of your cycle, you can actually use these principles to plan when you give presentations, when you do more strategic work, etc. I find it really helpful. Here is The Woman Code talk that Alissa did at Google discussing these principles
Queen of the South – Series
I love the journey of the protagonist in this series, Teresa Mendoza. She becomes accidentally involved in a Mexican drug cartel. She has to fight for her survival. The story shows how really strong characters: male and female are driven by both strong masculine and strong feminine principles
The Pyramid Code – Documentary Series
I often dream about being in Egypt, so when I watched this, it was literally like watching all my dreams on a screen. I don’t think everyone would find it interesting but what I especially enjoyed was the research on ancient Egypt which is what I see mostly in my dreams. If you want to skip through the series and just watch the part about how women and energy ruled ancient Egypt, it’s on Episode 4: The Empowered Human. That episode is worth watching for sure!
Highest Self Podcast Sahara Rose
Sahara talks about her journey to holistic health through the practice of Ayurveda. She also has a good talk on the feminine archetypes which is a good listen. She often mentions Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess. I enjoy listening to her principles of feminine energy in this podcast.
Insight Timer (free) search for meditation on divine feminine practice. There’s also some great courses to do on the premium version.
