How to Heal: Crown Chakra

How to Heal: Crown Chakra

Crown Chakra – Violet and White
Crown Chakra is at the top of your head and this is the first connection to source. Any blocks here may indicate that work needs to be done on spiritual alignment
Physical signs
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Forgetfulness
  • Judgemental of Others Spiritual Practices
Emotional signs
  • Not having a healthy and balanced faith or belief system
  • Not believing in a divine source
  • Feeling like nobody understands the thoughts in your head, even yourself.
What causes the block
The block can be caused by growing up in extreme faith based cultures or families where there was no room for question. When you did question the faith, it seemed as if you were betraying the faith. This could have led you to question your own beliefs and eventually discard the faith entirely.
How to clear the block
To clear this block, you will look at practices where you can align your thoughts and beliefs in a way that sustains your own faith based practice. For me this means being religiously and culturally fluid. I love reading about all religions and visiting holy temples across the world. The more I explore these religions, the more I realise, they follow similar patterns. This makes me believe that the divine is overall and the religion one choose is one’s own interpretation of the divine. This is still a difficult conversation to have with my parents and even most of my friends who are steadfast on following one religion. They are very welcome to do so if that fuels them spiritually. I’m comfortable in my spiritual fluidity and there is always a lot to learn.
Self care practice
1. Journalling
This is good for all blockages, for crown chakra block in particular – start your journal with:
“Today, what I believe my higher self would want me to…
The reason it is so difficult for me to align with my higher self is…
The first time I remember someone scolding me for having beliefs like this was… ”
2. Meditation and Prayer
Crown Chakra meditations and prayers are really important. I had to learn how to pray. This may be easy for most people to do, but for me I didn’t like having the script and I didn’t always feel what the script was saying was aligned to what I want to say. My healer and good friends taught me to treat the prayers as communication sessions with spirit. Speaking to spirit as my higher self and asking for guidance. Even when I’m stuck in a prayer, I’ll just say that: I’m stuck and I don’t know what to pray about today.
Meditation comes much more easily to me and I use these sessions to connect with my higher self often. Even so, it take work and practice to find a good rhythm with the meditation. Get support from groups online and offline if you need more help.
3. Nature
Nature is a truly a divine force. Spending time outdoors for your prayers and meditation can help connecting with your higher self. I often do my meditation outside and will feel the wind correspond to my thoughts, I notice more birds and bees around me when I’m in meditation.
4. Pay attention to messages
Birds, feathers and numbers can all be messages from spirit saying you’re on the right track. Once you become more in tune with the messaging, the more you will see it. Even seeing something like your Doppelganger is a spiritual message.
5. Dream interpretation
Our dreams are divine messages of the true emotions we have in our subconscious. Try to note the dream symbols that come up for you often and speak to someone who does dream interpretation to help you find meaning in your dreams. You can email me at houseofkandake@gmail.com for dream interpretations.
6. Speak to a healer
Find a healer you can trust to guide you through the process. Do your homework and look at different types of healers available and connect with the one that makes the most sense for you.
7. Shadow work
The shadow work involved with this block is surrender practice. Trying to let go of the control is a very difficult task. I struggled with this for some time and it is continuous learning process. The more you surrender, the more your life flows and being in flow state is a beautiful place to be.

Marianne Williamson – Modernity and Spirituality. This is a great interpretation of building spiritual practice in the modern world. Overall, the practice has to make sense for you and fuel you.
