How To Heal: Heart Chakra

Heart Chakra – Green
The heart chakra refers to love of course, do bear in mind that self love is the major message here. Blocks in this region will manifest in pain around the chest back and front as well as issues with self appreciation and love which can translate into love issues with others.
Physical signs
  • Chest Pain
  • Heart Palpitations
  • Shoulder Pains
  • Shortness of breath
  • Asthma
Emotional signs
  • Depression
  • Feeling lack of joy and contentment in your life
  • Not finding time for yourself
  • Feeling depleted often
  • Feeling as if you are always there for others but the favour is not returned to you
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Grief
What causes the block
The block is caused by an absence of a self care and self love routine. Don’t blame yourself though, we aren’t taught how to do this in school. It’s something we have to teach ourselves later on in life. It may have been triggered by grief through a loss of a loved one (for me, that’s the main cause) or by trauma.
How to clear the block
1. Journalling
This is good for all blockages, for heart chakra block in particular – start your journal with:
“Today, what I love most about myself is… 
The first time I realised I have this talent/gift/skill/trait was…
I feel most special when those I love acknowledge me through… ”
2. Meditation
Heart Chakra meditation involves boosting one’s self confidence through affirmations. Re-affirm your self love through guided meditations on confidence
3. Nature
Nature is great source of healing, spend as much time in the sun as possible and use this time for self reflection
4. Affirmations
Post affirmations on your lock screen, on your computer/desk and wherever they are most impactful
5. Mirror Work
All the words that you wish to hear from someone, say them to yourself. The more you believe them to be true, the more you will raise your vibration to meet someone who also sees your worth.
6. Self Care Routines
Establishing a nourishing and fulfilling self care practice is crucial for this block. Find which activities fuel your soul the most. Try working on creative projects (yourself as much as possible) to discover those parts of yourself you may have been neglecting.
7. Speak to a healer
Find a healer you can trust to guide you through the process. Do your homework and look at different types of healers available and connect with the one that makes the most sense for you.
Shadow work
The shadow work involved with this block includes grief and trauma release. Any events that occurred in your life where you felt an overwhelmingly sense of grief but may not have had the opportunity to mourn it, will show up here. The trick here is to become more familiar with the root of your sorrow so that you can ease dealing with it over time.

I loved watching Maya Angelou’s And Still I Rise. She is such a great orator and her story touches you in ways that are thoughtful and lighthearted at the same time
